Our Visit to Ayat

Here's another Palestinian restaurant to add to your radar! We were so excited to try this new place, run by a husband and wife duo. They have authentic Palestinian dishes alongside shawarma platters and sandwiches.

We got the za'atar bread and Fattat Lahma (6 layer dish of meat, rice, chickpeas, garlic tahini, crispy pita slivered almonds, and mint). The za'atar bread was crispy and salty and pretty much what you can imagine it to be. Fattat Lahma was something we never tried before - it was actually quite hard to stop eating! We loved the crunchy addition of crispy pita and almonds, topped with some tangy garlic tahini, and felt the overall dish was excellent. We just want to say that we regret not trying more food because we instantly fell in love with both dishes. But that just means we have an excuse to come back again! There's so many other things on the menu like Maklouba, Mansaf, Masakhan, and their meat pies. We also got their Limonana (mint lemonade) which was sweet and refreshing.

Price: 8.5/10
It's a humble and beautiful medium-sized restaurant. One side is the grilling station, the other side is the seating area. There's plenty of space to walk around, lots of natural light coming in from outside, and lots of beautiful art on the walls. The overall atmosphere is fast-casual, so not fancy dining per se, but enough for an individual to come in and have a bite or for small groups of 3-4 people.

Despite not eating indoors, we went inside a few times for non-food related reasons. They inside is very nice, has a dim, romantic aesthetic, and is very spacey. The outside setup where we dined was very nice too. It was basically a tent and shielded off on the side so car pollution or rain won't interfere with diners.

Service: 10/10
You have to order up and then the food will come to your table. The staff was very kind and accomodating.
