Every restaurant posted is by default hand-slaughtered halal unless it’s a non-halal establishment where went only for vegetarian, seafood, or dessert items.
How do you confirm if a restaurant serves halal meats?
We usually do a thorough scan online (restaurant website, social platform reviews, social medias). If nothing is found, we call. Once confirmed, we ask to see valid certification for supplied meats.
How do you find these restaurants?
Intense research and digging. Sometimes connections will directly message us too.
Do restaurants pay you to post and/or alter your reviews?
No. Restaurants do not pay us and we do not offer them to pay for a review just to be on our page. The same applies to altering reviews. The only time we accept payment is for Sponsored ads, which will have the label as “Sponsored” on the top of a post.
Is there bias when it comes to reviews?
No. We strive to be as balanced as possible. We will always offer public critiques on ways to improve aspects of a restaurant. We do not hold back on telling our foodies how we feel about a restaurant.
Why not just post pics and no reviews?
Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, would never complain about food. If he liked something, he would eat it. If he disliked it, he would leave it.

While the above hadith rings true and maybe might even contradict the nature of the work we do as being “food critics”, we feel the standard across the board for halal restaurants need to be higher to better meet the demands of Muslim community so that “settling for less” doesn’t have to always be an option. Our constructive reviews are a way to push restaurants to be better, hold themselves accountable, maintain honesty, and honor Islamically moral and ethical business practices. Our intentions are always to remember and serve Allah by serving the community.
Can I contact you regarding recommendations for restaurants?
We do not give out recommendations for the reason being that in the case that there is a bad experience, we would rather not want to be part of it. That includes: birthday parties, anniversaries, friends night, social parties, wedding functions, date nights, brunch, and everything else.
Do you do collaborations?
Yes! Our collaborations comprise of restaurant giveaways right now but we are open to anything creative regarding food.
