Halal Tex-Mex Comes to Midtown Manhattan

Ecstatic to introduce this review as this is the only halal Tex-Mex, Chipotle-style place in Manhattan!

Guac Time is a fast-casual restaurant that recently just opened up.

Lamb Burrito

Lamb Burrito

Food: 9/10
We tried a few things: lamb burrito, loaded nachos, chicken quesadilla, and mango rolled ice cream. Safe to say we enjoyed every single item. The lamb burrito even had mango slices in it which really put in another dimension of flavor into the burrito which was really enjoyable. The loaded nachos were good - queso was nice and hot and it had many different toppings like corn, beans, and guac. We do with the guac was smashed a bit more, it was a little too chunky. But overall a solid loaded nacho. The chicken quesadilla was seriously one of the best, if not, THE BEST quesadilla we’ve ever had. The chicken was so full of flavor, charred nicely, and it was filled with corn, pickled jalapeños, and lots of cheese. They also just introduced their rolled ice cream. Not sure if they will be doing different flavors but we got to try the mango with freshly chopped mango bits and it was both sweet and tart.

Price: 7.5/10
Standard for Manhattan prices honestly. It’s close to mid-town so it’s understandable. Prices average out to $11 an item.

Atmosphere: 6.5/10
It’s open-space, you can see the grill and prep station from the seating area. Seats are on one side, station and grill are on the other. There’s about 12 seats. Do wish the tables were wiped down each time after customers dined.

Service: 9/10
Food is prepped and made fast, you can watch them make it in front of you. The staff is also very friendly and attentive.
