New Singaporean Hawker Has Several Halal Stalls

Urban Hawker (@urbanhawker) has been making lots of headlines in the NYC food and hospitality scene these last couple of weeks and we knew we had to stop by! It’s a Singaporean food hall with several vendors being halal.

Halal stalls:
- Ashes Burnnit (@ashesburnnitnyc)
- Mamak’s Corner (@mamakscornernyc)
- Padi d’NYC (@padidnyc)
- Kopifellas (@kopifellasnyc)
- Lady Wong Pastry (@ladywongpastry) halal dessert only (meat pastries not halal)

We went to Ashes Burnnit as the lines were very long for the other vendors. Here’s what we tried.

SG Style Cheeseburger

Food: 10/10
We had the SG Style Cheeseburger, Satay Chicken Burger, and Singa Roti John. The food was phenomenal, all so flavorful and fresh. The cheeseburger bun was soft and pillowy and the beef was juicy. The Satay Chicken Burger was also the same. The Roti Singa John is perfect for sharing and it had umami flavors. Each dish comes with a side of thick-cut fries.

Price: 7/10
A little bit more on the pricier side. Items here go for $12-$13.

Atmosphere: 9/10
It has a dark aesthetic with plenty of seating, very long however pretty narrow.

Service: 8/10
The food does take a while to come, probably because there were many people who ordered before us. But the staff is super kind and friendly.
