Skip to Skip’s Fish & Chips

Our TikTok scrolling led us to find Skip’s Fish & Chips, a halal fast-food Cajun restaurant. They have locations all over the country and just so happen to have a location in Brooklyn! Brownsville to be exact. It’s located on a busy street of Rockaway Avenue between Pitkin and Sutter Avenues.

It’s a pretty busy spot, line starts around 11:30am so you should definitely be prepared for a wait. They also have lunch specials from Monday-Friday.

Food: 8/10
Everything we got was full of tingling flavor! Pictured here is the Spicy Chicken Sandwich, with coleslaw and pickles. It was seriously very good and tangy. Must be eaten ASAP to get the full crunch of the chicken. We also got loaded fries which had mac and cheese, French fries, and chicken, also got the choice of 2, which were tenders and shrimp. Gumbo (pictured last) was super flavorful but also very salty. If there was less salt, I’m sure it would be A1.

Don’t expect Popeyes prices! You’re getting very fresh food and one person would typically spend $20-$30 here.

Atmosphere: 9/10
It’s big and clean, but obviously no indoor dining. The interior is of a typical fast-food restaurant.

Service: 6/10
While the food was fresh, you can imagine it would take a while to prepare. Expect to wait around 25 minutes!
