The Craze That is Birria Mania

Birria Mania is the newest, and probably hottest halal Bay Ridge establishment you can go to right now. They serve Tijuana-style cuisine. Birria is the main show-stopper here. Think: pizza, tacos, and RAMEN. They also serve delicious drinks such as mangonada, virgin paloma, sorrel, and horchata. It lives up to the hype.

Birria Pizza

Food: 9.5/10
We tried really almost everything on the menu for a bloggers event and came back the next week as paying customers, and the quality of the food was the same deliciousness that we had the first time. The birria pizza is our personal favorite thing to try because it’s sandwiched between two flour tortilla soaked up in birria juices with cheese, cilantro, and onions. It is perfect for sharing. It comes with consommé on the side, however it is small for the portion of pizza you get. Our next most favorite thing on the menu are the mulitas. These are grilled flat corn tortillas with birria, melted mozzarella cheese with cilantro and onions and grated cotija cheese.

Price: 8/10
Prices are fair for the quality and amount of food you get.

Atmosphere: 10/10
The ceilings are adorned with sombreros and the walls have murals of iconic figures, such as Frida Kahlo and Biggie Smalls! Tijuana meets Brooklyn! Seating is up to 30-40 people.

Service: 6/10
Once it gets busy (which is pretty much most evenings), expect service delays. You may witness a line already out before the opening time (5PM). It took a while for our food to come and our servers forgot multiple items.
