A Novel Kitchen is a bookstore/cafe restaurant all under one roof.

A Novel Kitchen is also PARTIALLY HALAL.

ONLY the beef and chicken items are halal. Pastrami and turkey bacon are not. They are currently working towards finding halal suppliers for those items. Rest assured there is NO cross contamination. All items are pan handled separately. Dine at your own discretion.

Steak and Onions club

Food: 7/10
Honestly, we should have tried more items but for the food that we got, it was pretty mediocre. We got the Steak and Onions club, which had filet mignon bits, caramelized onions, provolone cheese, pesto spread and grilled tomatoes. There wasn’t much flavor, but if you’re into a bite with not looking for much, we guess this would suffice. It also comes with truffle fries. We also got the Stuffed Challah bread French toast which was excellent. No question about that. The Caliente Mac and Cheese was pretty good, just wish the cheese wasn’t so watery. It comes with pepper jack cheese, jalapeño, and filet mignon steak bites.

Price: 7.5/10
Not that bad in terms of price in comparison to proportion sizes. Most mains range from $12-$18. Not gonna lie, can be seen as pricey.

Atmosphere: 10/10
Super big, spacious, they’ve got a whole side library with books you can purchase. It truly is a hardcore cafe. Plenty of seating and greenery. Just enough lighting.

Service: 8/10
Service is standard. Though we really wish servers knew what was halal and what wasn’t. Hopefully this can be improved immediately for the future.
