Halal Korean Barbecue Finally Arrives in NYC

As you all may have heard by now, Eatzy Thai has introduced Korean barbecue and hotpot to their menu. It has officially become the first halal all you can eat Korean barbecue in NYC. We were stoked to come in as customers and try it ourselves. NOTE: As of right now (6/8/2021), they are NOT taking reservations or walk-ins. Please be patient while they do some housekeeping before relaunching.

Food: 7.5/10
Here is what comes in the barbecue: pickled daikons, kimchee, a variety of gochujang sauces, lettuce, fries, fried rice, garlic, jalapeños, and a few other things we don’t know the names of (we apologize 😭). Proteins that come with it are beef, chicken, spicy chicken, and shrimp. The shrimp is halfway cooked already. We received complimentary lychee iced tea that was super refreshing. We loved the flavor of the food itself. That was on point. The only thing we feel that could be improved was the size of the slices of meat. The beef slices were kind of too thick, it would be better if all of it was thinly shaved slices from a certain part of the cow (which you can see in the video on the second slide). The beef was pretty chewy. It wasn’t really bulgogi beef to us. That was our only qualm. Everything else was pretty good. Also, we were just two people but the meat had kept coming. Perhaps in the future they can introduce smaller portions of the meat so it doesn’t go to waste. For the hotpot, it comes with two different types of broth. One is Tom Yum soup and the other is Spicy soup. It comes with instant noodles and rice cakes (tteokbokki). Can’t go wrong here. We recommend putting the shrimps in the broths.

Price: 8/10
$40 per adult and $20 for kids. 1.5 hour time limit which is standard everywhere.

Atmosphere: 9/10
It’s located in their backyard behind the restaurant. Great summer vibes. Pretty spacey and has about 6 tables.

Service: 9/10
Service is great - the staff try to help you cook your food you can have more time eating, but that’s not to say that you can’t cook it yourself - you most definitely can.
