Indian Fusion Restaurant Brings Peri Peri to Jackson Heights

Eatzy Chinese (also Planet Peri Peri) is a new restaurant bringing Indian-Chinese fusions with a new concept of a Peri Peri menu. The previous business in that location used to be Talk of the Town - also offering a similar menu. We were invited to try their foods at their Media Event.

Food: 7/10
We got the Peri Peri Steak that is pictured here, along with a few other things that will be mentioned later. We never heard of Peri Peri steak since Peri Peri is usually reserved for chicken items, lamb chops, and beef burgers. So we were excited to try it! Flavor-wise, it wasn’t bad. It needed more Peri Peri to do it justice. But the steak was rock hard. We were told that its because the chefs in the back are used to cooking everything well done, which will be improved in the future. The sides we got were fries and peri peri rice. The fries were mediocre at best and rice was something very different than what we imagined. We wouldn’t exactly say its a Peri Peri seasoned rice, but moreso Indo-Chinese veggie fried rice with snap-peas. We also got the Lollipop Chicken (which was our fav dish), Mixed Hakka Noodles, and Fried Peri Peri Chicken Sandwich, which was very good.

Price: 8/10
With such a large and extensive menu book, you’ll find that the average price here is $11-$15 for a solid entree. The Peri Peri steak was $13 with two sides, which is pretty unheard of. T-bone steaks usually go for $20 and up.

Atmosphere: 7/10
While clean, spacious, bright, and night, it was extremely cold. The place before this used to be Talk of the Town which had a much darker interior. The walls here are lined with bright purple, Aladdin-like wallpaper.

Service: 6/10
We understand that it was a Media Event and we weren’t paying for anything, but in terms of getting orders right - it was kind of a huge mess up. Don’t get us wrong, they’re very nice! Maybe the influx was too much that night.
