New Froyo and Halal Candy on Steinway

Did you ever feel like frozen yogurt spots needed to up their game with their non-halal, gelatinous candies? Did you ever lose hope that a frozen yogurt spot just couldn’t possible exist?

Well The Chill Spot has come to existence for all your halal candy topping needs for your frozen yogurt.

The Chill Spot serves around 10 flavors of frozen yogurt, has about 50 toppings, plus cereal dispensers! (For those that like to have pieces of your favorite cereal with your froyo. No judgement.) They also specialize in Desi bubble tea - such as Falooda, Mango Alphonso, and Pakola (yes, our Pakistani followers — rejoice!)

Food: 10/10
We got the Chicken Banh Mi and short-rib blended beef burger with turkey bacon added. The Banh Mi exceeded my expectations. It was made on order and tasted delicious. It had the perfect ensemble of the veggies you find used for Banh Mi and the juicy chicken wasn’t skimped out on either. The burger was also very good - it was juicy, tasty, and overall a a hefty portion in ratio of meat to veggies. Each sandwich or burger comes with a side of handcut fries that were so good, crispy, and salty.

Price: 7/10
Prices are a bit higher than you’d expect but I think it’s justifiable for the quality of the meat and food you are getting. The Banh Mi was $14 and the burger was $16 including the turkey bacon.

Atmosphere: 10/10
It’s pretty bright, clean, and spacey, but there is limited seating. Hoping they will introduce more seating in the future but for now it looks like a grab and go.

Service: 9/10
Service is standard. Everyone who works there is super friendly and accommodating.
