The First Ever Halal Smash-Burgers in the City

Burger Mania is Manhattan’s new spot for smash-style burgers, layered up in three’s and even four’s. They also serve hot chicken, wings, and tenders.

First of all - there is no place where you can get halal smash burgers. What’s a smash burger you say? It comprises mainly of the burger patty being smashed flat that has more surface area to crisp up and re-soak in its own juices. Yes - drool. All the burger patties are made fresh and are never frozen. We tried their Mania burger, FDNY burger, and Oozy burger which were all so flavorful and juicy. The first two comes with 3 smash patties, and the Oozy comes with 2. We also got to try their Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich that was bursting with sauce. Despite the chicken patty itself being crispy, we do wish there was just a little less sauce, because it was kind of overwhelming. The chicken tenders though were fire. They were crazy crispy, fresh, and juicy - a trio of perfection. You can request it with honey mustard, zesty bbq, or house ranch. The wings we got were teriyaki and Jamaican jerk smelled so delicious. Seriously, it packed a punch with aroma and tasted great. Lastly, we tried the Nashville Loaded Fries. This has chicken chunks, seasoned fries, melted white cheese, hot sauce, jalapeños, and house ranch. Everything is layered so nicely so you don’t have to worry about anything getting soggy too quickly. This was great but feels like there was too much liquid in terms of the sauce.

Price: 9/10
Prices are reasonable, despite even being in the most touristy area of Manhattan.

Atmosphere: 6/10
Although we did eat inside, we highly recommend doing takeout. There is 5 seats and it’s all window seating. We feel it may be kind of claustrophobic for some due to the size of the space, which is pretty small. But do take extra napkins with you if you decide to takeout. Maybe even go to Central Park and have a picnic! 😁

Service: 8/10
Food is made ready at a pretty reasonable time as we’ve seen with ourselves and others. It’s family-owned and run and everyone is really nice!
