Viva la Pizza! Halal Pizzeria in Brooklyn

Viva la Pizza is a brand new, renovated from previously being David’s Pizza. It’s run by a bunch of awesome guys who are actually NOT Muslim, but have lots of Muslim friends and considering the Muslim-heavy area, they opened with all FULLY HALAL meats. We are forever grateful for their kindness and consideration to opening up more options for the Muslim community.

Food: 8/10
We got the spaghetti and meatballs - let’s talk about this for a second. We could eat a whole plate of those meatballs. They were that good. The sauce was more on the sweeter side though, could be a little less sweet. Also tried a bunch of slices - white ricotta (that were drizzled with Mike’s Hot Honey, which is a game changer btw), BBQ slice that was also good and even better for those that like their pizzas a little more sweeter. Beef pepperoni slice was great and so was the Grandma slice, which was super good in our opinion - it was fluffy and chewy and the pesto on it was everything. All the textures of the pizzas were perfect. We also got the pepperoni garlic knots, which we’ve never heard of before but is definitely interesting and worth trying. Would get them over regular garlic knots any day. Oh and the chicken cutlet parmigiana hero - very good. Couldn’t finish it in one sitting!

Price: 6/10
$2.75 a plain slice is the norm / or better than average. The entrees can definitely be seen as pricey to many. We were told that they use very good quality ingredients and that the recipes are authentically Italian.

Atmosphere: 7/10
It’s medium sized - there’s some seating on the side, but we’d say it’s primarily a takeout place.

Service: 10/10
Overall great vibes and familial-feel to the place. We saw other customers come in and they were treated like family.
