Amazing Uyghur Food in Brighton Beach

Kashkar Cafe is a Uyghur restaurant located in Brighton Beach. It has a relaxed vibe and has a wide variety of Uyghur dishes. They are thoroughly clear on their usage of halal meats, written all over their menus.

Food: 10/10
Compared to all the Uyghur restaurants we’ve been to, this one takes the cake. All the dishes we got were so amazing and delicious. We were really impressed by how well seasoned all the dishes we got were. We got these lamb rib kebabs that were so juicy, tender, and a burst of flavor with each bite. The second picture is the fried flat noodles that had a delightful crisp and char on each noodle. Samsas were gigantic and fluffy and packed with meat and onions. The complimentary sauce was a nice touch to add to your bite. The lamb meatball soup was good and so was the fried lagman noodles.

Price: 6.5/10
It is more on the pricier side, considering that the restaurant isn’t in a fancy zip code. Perhaps it’s a price hike post-pandemic.

Atmosphere: 7/10
We dined outside in the small area in the front patio of the restaurant. The inside is a little more casual and almost take-out like but there is seating.

Service: 4/10
Despite the amazing the food, the service was disappointing. No one came to take our order from our table until we went inside to ask (after 25 minutes), and the food took a long time to come. The server brought out extra food we didn’t order and wanted to charge us for it too. She “offered” it to us but expected us to pay for it... We told her we did not want it, so then she took it back. The whole thing was just awkward and could have been better handled. It made us not want to come back to dine in again, just do take-out next time.
