Brooklyn Gets Its Second Halal Italian Restaurant

Fatta Mano is the city’s newest halal Italian restaurant. They serve Italian dishes free of pork and alcohol and other non-halal ingredients. All the meat is used is halal.

Food: 7/10
One by one: We started off with the Burrata that is served along with grilled pears, pesto, and candied walnuts. We thought this was a unique and interesting item on the menu that we would like - and it was pretty delicious. We’re not sure if it’s homemade burrata but it was definitely flavorful and went well with all the flavors on the plate. Next, we ordered the wood fired wings and were pretty divided on this. Half of our party enjoyed the wings alone as they were not a fan of the dipping sauce. The other half enjoyed it both ways. Then we tried the Quattro Formaggi that had gorgonzola, fontina, ricotta and burrata cheeses which created this beautiful ensemble of cheesy deliciousness on a soft crust. For pastas, we tried bolognese that was amazing - like super authentic flavor. The other pasta we had was the truffle fettuccine which had potential but we weren’t able to enjoy it. The truffle flavor was there and it was creamy, it was lacking salt which we just added on top. For the last main dish we tried the chicken parm that had very flattened chicken topped with some spaghetti in marinara sauce. It was on the dryer side but probably due to it being flattened out. The tiramisu we got for dessert was amazing, but not $12 amazing. The portion was small but it was a really great tiramisu - heavy on the coffee flavor and super sweet, just overall really rich.

Price: 6/10
This restaurant aims to be upper scale which is nice however, it is a little on the pricey end compared to the dishes and experience as a whole.

Atmosphere: 10/10
Stunning interior and wonderful ambiance. Sleek interior with flourishes of artificial vines and leaves hanging from the ceiling. Can seat many people (wouldn’t necessarily say it’s large group friendly), and it is clean.

Service: 8/10
Service was standard - our servers were very kind.
