Our Second Visit to 212 Steakhouse

212 Steakhouse is a classy, finer dining restaurant in Midtown Manhattan offering delicious halal steaks and classic steak sides! Here is our second time reviewing the restaurant.

This is a PARTIALLY-HALAL restaurant however it is Muslim-owned and they are aware of cross-contamination protocols and keep everything separate from the non-halal items.

Wagyu Rib-eye Steak

Food: 7/10
The food was absolutely superb! We started off with the Sour Shirley, Mango Lemonade, and Fruit Punch mocktails which were so delicious and fresh. We were then served warm bread with olive oil, butter, and eggplant dip. We kept going back for more. For appetizers, we ordered the tuna crudo, grilled octopus, french onion soup, and burratta salad. Truly, everything was delicious! The burratta was some of the creamiest we’ve had, and we loved the cheese pull and rich flavor of the french onion soup. These soups are made with halal stock btw! For entrees, we ordered the wagyu ribeye steak and steak sampler (ribeye, sirloin, tenderloin). Every cut of meat was so so flavorful and perfectly rendered, and let us not even start with that perfectly charred crust! The steaks were finished with finishing salt and either peppercorn or flamed rosemary for that perfect bite. Steaks were cooked medium upon request. We also tried their assortment of fresh pastas. We especially loved the spicy rigatoni and wild mushroom risotto! The rigatoni had more of an al dente bite which we liked. For sides, we really enjoyed their brussel sprouts and truffle mashed potatoes.

Price: 6/10
These menu items are on the pricier side, however they compare well to steakhouses in the area. Portion sizes are good as well for the price point.

Atmosphere: 10/10
The restaurant is very elegant with white tablecloths and dimmed lighting. We did think the music was a bit loud though.

Service: 8/10
The waiter was very attentive and knowledgable of all menu items. Food came out hot and fast which we really liked!
