Halal Peruvian Restaurant Debuts in the LES

This new halal Peruvian restaurant brings authentic Peruvian cuisine to the Lower East Side. They are known mainly for their small, easy-going menu of rotisserie chicken and sides.

Food: 9/10
First things first: the rotisserie chicken. This is what a restaurant like this is going to known for. MashaAllah their chicken is AMAZING. It’s so juicy, flavorful both outside and inside, and is so succulent. You have to eat with your hands. Get rid of the utensils, keep it for the sides. We had sauces on the side, but quite honestly we didn’t need it for this. We didn’t even realize there were sauces on the table because the chicken was that good without it. The sauces they have are ranch, bbq, garlic, and Peruvian aji. Next up is the Salchipapa (sliced halal hot dogs and French fries) - this was good as a side to dip into the sauces. The tostones were also good for dipping into the garlic sauce. Pretty much all the dryer-ended sides were perfect for sauce. The maduras (fried plantains) were DELISH. Honestly could eat a whole plate of those. They were soft and full of sweet, tangy flavor. We also tried the yellow rice and white rice which are perfect for the saucy beans that they have, which are also very good. The coleslaw that we tried was more on the sweeter side, something that we weren’t exactly used to. It was still crunchy and delivered a classic coleslaw taste, just a tad bit sweeter.

Price: 7/10
Prices are more on the pricier side, but in our opinion, this is something you should still try regardless and judge it for yourself. We think the quality and location justifies the price point.

Atmosphere: 8/10
It is an underground restaurant - it’s really cute and has a “barn” style theme. The walls have cute chicken cartoons and the table cloths are checkered. It’s well-lit, clean, and can seat up to approximately ~30 people.

Service: 10/10
Food comes quick - as we’ve seen with ourselves and other customers. Everyone who works here is super friendly and chill!
